Melanoma in situ

 

 

The following case depicts a melanoma in situ excision before, immediately after, and 1 month after the procedure. This patient had excellent results with the tumor being removed successfully and all margins being clear. Although melanoma in situ means the cancer is localized, melanoma is a serious condition that require immediate treatment.

Venous Ulcer

Below is a venous ulcer of the left calf. On the patient’s first visit with us, the patient presented with pain and necrotic tissue, and wound measured 5.5cm x 9.5cm. Through a series of debridements and a few skin substitute procedures, we were able to heal this sizable wound. The national average for healing venous ulcers is 6-12 months and we were able to heal this patient’s venous ulcer in just 5 months.

Stage 4 Pressure Ulcer

Stage 4 Pressure Ulcer required multiple Debridements, negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) and bioengineered skin substitute. Healed in a patient with “perfect storm” of risk factors for pressure ulcers. Patient has been pressure ulcer free for 6 months residing in his home requiring minimal healthcare services. Pressure ulcer is no longer controlling his life. Most of the patients with stage 4 pressure ulcers require nursing home or higher level of care. Without qualified Beside Wound Care by Physician they are frequently in and out of the hospital with wound infections.

Diabetic Foot Ulcer

Diabetic Foot Ulcer with infected eschar in a patient with poor diabetes control. These ulcers often lead to amputation increasing mortality by 50%. Patient discharged with healed ulcer, great diabetic foot wear to prevent recurrent ulcers and with better blood sugar control.

Venous Ulcer

Patient presented with large 10x8cm venous ulcer. Other factors for non-healing included diabetes. After multiple debridements, modern topical treatments and compression therapy the wound is healed without a need for skin grafting procedure. This case is an example of significant savings to the patient and healthcare system. Patient avoided hospitalization and is very satisfied with the outcome.
