Your sun safety is important to us and we have highlighted some pointers, tips and facts for you. June is also Wound Healing Awareness Month and our healing outcomes showcase the expertise of our providers in this specialized area.
Wound Healing Awareness Month
The American Board of Wound Management (ABWM) Foundation has named June as Wound Healing Awareness Month (WHAM!). The month is dedicated to bringing awareness to wound healing, wound specialists and the challenges experienced by individuals with chronic wounds. These wounds can include pressure ulcers (bedsores), diabetic foot ulcers, venous leg ulcers, and arterial ulcers. Patients should be referred for treatment by a wound care specialist if their wound is not healing within four weeks. Seeking proper care and treatment earlier results in better outcomes for the patient. There are no benefits to waiting.

This behavior is driven by a combination of misconceptions, peer influence, and a desire for quick results.
