Celebrating PA Week

Celebrating PA Week

National PA Week is celebrated from October 6-12, 2024. It is a special time to recognize the invaluable contributions of Physician Assistants (PAs) in healthcare. We are incredibly grateful for our dedicated PAs who bring exceptional care, expertise, and compassion to our patients every day.

History and Stats

The PA profession began in the 1960s as a solution to the national shortage of primary care physicians.

The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants reported 95,583 board certified PAs in the U.S. in 2023. In 2022 that number grew to 168,318.

Role

Our Physician Assistants play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless patient experiences. Additionally, they consistently deliver high-quality care, and support our mission to provide top-notch surgical dermatology and wound care services. Their deep knowledge, clinical skills, and ability to connect with patients make them essential members of our team. From diagnosing skin conditions to performing minor surgeries and educating patients about wound care, they consistently go above and beyond to provide comprehensive treatment.

We take this opportunity to express our heartfelt appreciation for the hard work, dedication, and empathy that our PAs bring to the practice. They also work closely with Dr. Novikov to offer personalized care tailored to each patient’s needs, ensuring every visit is comfortable, informative, and effective. Our PAs’ commitment to lifelong learning and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in dermatology and wound care means our patients receive the highest standard of care.

As we celebrate National PA Week, please join us in thanking our incredible PAs for their dedication to patient care. Their contributions enhance our practice and make a positive impact on the health and well-being of our community. We are proud to have them as part of our team and look forward to their continued success.

Meet our PAs and celebrate them with us during PA Week: Cassandra Chu, Emily Phaneuf, and Mackenzie Winslow.
