Patient CN discovered a mole on his toe and made an appointment for a mole assessment with a skin specialist. Although being young, he didn’t consider the mole a major concern, but he left the appointment with peace of mind. Toes are one of the overlooked areas for skin cancer detection.
His initial impression of the office environment was that it was “clean and friendly.”
He appreciated that his time was valued and there was not a long wait before being seen.
“It was also convenient to be able to complete the new patient paperwork ahead of time and bring it in on the day of the appointment,” CN said. “It limits the time at the office for someone with a busy schedule.”
He felt confident in the mole assessment by the Physician Assistant.
“She communicated the process well, showed me a photo taken from the dermatoscope, and explained how the baseline measurements of the mole are important to monitor changes in the future,” CN said.
He also thought the new patient folder to take home was a nice touch. It included information on the providers as well as information on preventing skin cancer, the ABDCEs of checking a mole and when to see a doctor.
