Dr. Novikov Wellness and Skin Care welcomes Jhansi Raja, who started as a new provider scribe/practice assistant in May. She grew up in Nashua, New Hampshire and graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA with a BS in Biology and a certificate in Japanese.
She credits the primary care physician she had while growing up as the one who sparked her interest in medicine.
“I actually initially hated going to the doctors and everything in my visits and appointments” she said. “Over time, explanations for what was going on in my care, being an advocate for my needs and having had the same doctor for such a long time strengthened our bond to the point of wanting to do the same for others.”
Jhansi has quickly delved into learning about her gap year role at the practice.
“I am looking forward to broadening my knowledge of medicine, and specifically the field of dermatology, along with learning about the inner workings of a healthcare system with all of its working parts- the providers, doctors, nurses, patients, and insurance companies- and how they come together in interesting and intricate ways,” she said. “I am grateful to everyone for already teaching and explaining so many new things to me.”
When Jhansi is not studying or working she loves reading books, specifically fantasy books, drawing, and playing soccer with her dog.
