Nancy was a patient of Dr. Novikov for about seven weeks. This was her first experience with a wound care specialist.
Nancy suffers from Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, where the skin can easily split open. She described the wound being treated as a “hole in my leg the size of a quarter.”
“I was surprised the wound healed so fast,” she said.
She credits that to the providers’ attention and their changing her antibiotic as needed throughout the healing process.
Dr Novikov also introduced her to Tubigrip compression bandages. She found the compression socks she was originally using too tight.
“The alternative worked well,” she said. “They are stretchy, I can use them all day and they are easy to get on and off.”
Nancy was also impressed that there was an area for patients offering snacks, water and healthy drinks, like Ensure and juice.
At her last appointment, there was a terrible thunderstorm, and a staff member was ready with a big umbrella to escort patients to their car.
“I have never seen an office so friendly,” she said. “The staff was wonderful; I really liked them.”
