October 6th through October 12th is National PA Week! We are always thankful for our physician assistants, but especially this week when they and their colleagues across the country are celebrated for their contributions to medicine. The PA profession began in the 1960s as a solution to the national shortage of primary care physicians. Physician assistants go through extensive training including 4 years of undergraduate education, 4 years of graduate education, and thousands of clinical hours. Today, PAs can be found working in all specialties, prescribing medications, and serving as patients’ primary healthcare provider in some cases.
Here at Dr. Novikov’s Wellness and Skincare our incredible PAs not only put their skills to work each day as providers, they also serve as a resource of information and knowledge for our scribe team. Simultaneously, they provide outstanding care to our patients as well as mentorship to the next generation of healthcare workers.
We at Dr. Novikov’s Wellness and Skin Care would like to thank our terrific team of PAs for all of their tremendous work not just this week, but year round!
