Nursing facility: ‘The educational piece is beneficial’

Tiffany Hobbs, LPN, CDP is the Assistant Director of Nursing Services at Beaumont at Westborough. She has seen first hand the benefits of having Dr. Novikov Wellness and Skin Care providers attend to patient wound care at their bedside.

Tiffany has been a part of the wound care rounds with the practice providers for five years.

“There are a lot of good outcomes when he [Dr. Novikov] is involved,” she said.

She said one added bonus for her is the strong educational piece received while on wound care rounds.

“The educational piece is beneficial,” said Tiffany. “Understanding the process is important-what to expect, what are we working with and what needs to be done to improve. It’s key to helping with wound management and knowing the best treatment plan.”

Additionally, the consistency of weekly visits for the patients is helpful for positive outcomes.

“Patients receive services without it impacting their day,” Tiffany said. “Services at bedside eliminate patients going in and out of the building for wound care clinic appointments. There is no waiting for chair vans or waiting in the lobby–it’s a lot of time added to the resident’s day. They are able to stay in their room for a 10 minute appointment versus a half day to get the same results. They are able to continue on with their day.”
