‘I thought I would have to go into Boston to get this kind of care’

Patient Paula Kulevich had an accident at the gym on the elliptical machine, which resulted in a “big, deep” leg ulcer. After a few weeks of seeing her primary care doctor, she was referred to Dr. Novikov’s office for treatment.

Paula can only rave about the professionalism, kindness of every staff member and high-quality customer service she received.

“From the time you walk into the office, you feel that they will take care of you and help you,” she said. “I thought I would have to go into Boston to get this kind of care and there couldn’t be someone this good in Northborough. Dr. Novikov should be very proud of his staff.”

Initially, she was told to expect an 18-week recovery timeframe. With the care she received, Paula was able to ring the bell signifying her discharge in only 13 weeks.

“I rang the bell,” she said. “I’m in heaven. I never thought I would get there. What a practice! It has been a great, positive experience that happened because of an accident. I’m glad my ulcer is gone, but I will miss my Wednesday visits.”

Paula was able to purchase supplies directly through the office. The use of a lymphedema pump to help her with circulation was also arranged as part of her home care and recovery.

She was also impressed how Dr. Novikov went above and beyond to ensure her trip to Las Vegas was worry free.

“If I ran into any problems while away, all I had to do was call him and he knew a doctor in the area and would get me in to see him if needed. That’s A+ care—just the best.”

Paula appreciated the small things, like the snacks, and how on a hot day, a whole tray of ice waters was available.

“The small things mean something,” she said.

Communication from day one was excellent and the whole process was explained thoroughly.

“Every ‘i’ was dotted, and every ‘t’ was crossed,” said Paula. “It’s a first-class operation. The whole staff from scribes to providers are all so caring.”
